Facial Reconstruction Dallas
Those with abnormal features due to a birth defect or injury can suffer from a lack of self-esteem and may even be hesitant to interact with others socially. Facial reconstruction surgery performed by board-certified plastic surgeons Charles A. Wallace, M.D. can give Plano and Frisco area patients the brand new outlook on life they deserve.
What is Facial Reconstruction?
Facial reconstruction involves restructuring certain areas of the face to provide a more uniform and/or natural appearance. This type of surgery is common among accident and burn victims, as well as veterans who have been disfigured due to combat. Reconstruction may also be performed to fill in areas of the face that have been permanently removed due to cancer.
Benefits of Facial Reconstruction
Those who suffer from facial deformities often fear going out in public because they are self-conscious about how others perceive them. Undergoing surgery is one of the best ways to rebuild self-esteem and allow people to get their lives back on track. When deformities affect the nose, correcting it can also help an individual breathe better.

Elements of a Facial Reconstruction
No two facial reconstruction surgeries are alike. Instead, each one may include a variety of elements such as:
- Skin grafting
- Fat transfer
- Augmentation to fill in the cheeks, forehead, chin, or lips
- Bone grafting
During your consultation, Dr. Wallace will determine which techniques would best provide you with the results you desire, and then discuss each one in-depth with you.
How much Does Facial Reconstruction Cost?
Once a treatment plan has been established, we will then be able to provide you with a cost. At that time, we will discuss our various financing options with you. Some of our facial reconstruction procedures may be covered by insurance, in which case we will do our best to ensure you receive all the benefits you are entitled to under your plan.
For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®. Financing options are also available via Prosper® Healthcare Lending
After Your Facial Reconstruction
Your face may be covered with bandages, which should be kept clean and dry. You may also need to avoid smoking or using alcohol until your face has fully healed.
Getting Back to Normal Following Facial Reconstruction
Once bandages have been removed, you will notice an immediate improvement in your appearance; however, the full effects may not be visible for a few weeks afterward. More than one procedure could be needed, and if so, you will see gradual improvement after each one.
