Lip Augmentation Dallas

Have you looked in the mirror and wished you had fuller plumper lips? Board-certified plastic surgeon, Charles A. Wallace, M.D. gives people in Frisco and Plano, as well as areas around Dallas, TX, the lips they have always wanted through lip augmentation.

What is Lip Augmentation?

Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure where the lips are plumped up or reshaped to enhance the face. This is done through lip implants, or dermal fillers injected into the lips. On the reverse, for overly large lips, lip reduction may be done to reduce the size and shape of the lips to bring them more in line with other facial features.

The Art of a Natural-Looking Face with Lip Augmentation

With lip augmentation, it is important that the results naturally and subtly match the other facial features. The goal is to have fuller kissable lips without having them be overly full and obviously done.

Benefits of Lip Augmentation

With lip augmentation, facial features complement each other rather than look mismatched. This procedure also offers the following benefits:

  • Younger looking smile
  • Diminished fine lines around the mouth
  • More attractive smile
  • Repaired lips from injury or genetics

Is a Lip Augmentation Right for Me?

If you notice that your lips are thinner with more lines around them, and you want a fuller, more youthful smile, lip augmentation may be the best option.

Elements of Lip Augmentation

There are several methods to perform lip augmentation, including injectable dermal fillers, fat transfers, and lip implants. With fillers, a synthetic compound is injected into the lips to add volume, shape, and structure. Most fillers last several months and are the least invasive treatment option. Fat transfers involve transferring fat from one part of the body via liposuction to the lips. This procedure is more invasive but lasts much longer than fillers – up to three years.

Another option with lip augmentation is lip implants. This procedure involves placing implants in the lips through small incisions in the corner of the lips. This procedure is more invasive and involves some recovery.

I’m so pleased with the results of Dr. Wallace’s work. I’m sure he hears it all the time, but please let him know how awesomely talented he is! How Much Does Lip Augmentation Cost in Dallas?

Lip augmentation is considered cosmetic which means that insurance rarely, if ever, offers coverage for this type of procedure. We accept cash, check, Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®, as well as offer financing options with Prosper® Healthcare Lending.

After Lip Augmentation

With injectable fillers, there is no downtime. Most people return to their normal activities immediately following the treatments. There may be some slight redness and swelling that resolves itself within a day. Fat transfers to the lips result in more swelling and some bruising, both of which resolve themselves within a few days.

Lip implants involve the most downtime as the procedure is more invasive with stitches. Most Dallas patients find the healing process takes up to two weeks. Outer stitches are removed after about 10 days while the inner stitches dissolve. There may also be some numbness throughout the healing process and lips may feel stiff for a few months.

Getting Back to Normal After Lip Augmentation

It takes a couple of weeks to return to normal activities following lip augmentation. If there is any bruising or discoloration at this point, makeup can camouflage it until it fades away.
