Do you have stubborn deposits of fat that just don’t seem to go away no matter how much you exercise and diet? Charles A. Wallace, M.D., board-certified plastic surgeon performs liposuction, or lipo, for Plano and Frisco area residents, including those individuals from anywhere in Dallas, TX, who want to get rid of stubborn body fat.
What is Liposuction?
When recalcitrant fatty deposits prove to be utterly resistant to diet and exercise, then liposuction with Charles A. Wallace, M.D. can help you reshape your body contour. You can reshape your body by sucking out excess fat with or without ultrasound, using tumescent infusions of dilute local anesthesia.
Liposuction works, which is why lipo treatments were up five percent in Plano and North Dallas in 2014, and more than 200,000 liposuction procedures were done nationally.
What You Should Know About Liposuction
Dr. Wallace is a patient safety advocate who believes that this is of preeminent importance. Patients should realize that lipo is not for weight reduction. Liposuction is most beneficial to individuals with only a small amount of excess fat to be removed.
Liposuction with Dr. Wallace will boost your self-esteem so that you can then double down on dieting and exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle.

The Liposuction Procedure
Depending on the area to be treated or the amount of fat to be removed, local or general anesthesia may be used during the procedure. Many times, if a smaller amount of fat is being targeted, only local anesthesia will be used. If a larger area is being treated, then general anesthesia will be used.
The procedure begins with a small incision near the problem area, and a small tube is inserted. The tube is moved gently and effectively to suction out excess fat from the area.
With modern anti-inflammatory medicines before and after surgery, most patients require no additional pain medication. Following comprehensive fat removal, the incision is closed, and the healing process begins. Results are visible immediately, but full results can be observed in just a few weeks.
How Much Does Liposuction Cost?
For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®. We also provide financing options via Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
After Your Liposuction Procedure
While it is reasonable to expect that you may not feel completely back to normal immediately following your procedure, recovery itself is typically quite fast-paced.
Depending on the treated area, Dr. Wallace may require patients to wear a supportive undergarment in the time following the procedure. This ensures faster, more noticeable results and a better healing process.
Some patients experience a sense of numbness for a variable length of time, but your compression garments will lessen swelling and bleeding.
Getting Back to Normal Following Liposuction
The liposuction procedure has obvious external benefits, such as a tightened appearance to the skin, improved contours to the body and a smaller circumference of the targeted area. While your results take hold following your treatment, you may experience some discomfort rather than actual pain during the first week or so.
As the weeks start to pass following your procedure, the benefits of liposuction with Dr. Wallace will really start to emerge, and you can show off your newly sculpted body with confidence and flair!
