Do you wish your skin had a smooth, more youthful appearance? If so, you are not alone. Residents of the Plano and Frisco area turn to board-certified plastic surgeon Charles A. Wallace, M.D. for all their microdermabrasion needs.
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is of the most popular cosmetic procedures available for skin resurfacing. Microdermabrasion uses a combination of exfoliation techniques to remove the top layer of damaged skin. The result is smoother, fresher skin that is vibrant and youthful. Microdermabrasion has been around for several decades and has seen incredible advances in technology throughout that time. Dr. Wallace and his team of exceptional estheticians utilize effective techniques to gently exfoliate and polish the skin.
Benefits of Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion has become a highly coveted skin resurfacing procedure for many reasons. It does not require any type of medication, the procedure is quick and painless, and it is effective in treating a range of different skin blemishes and conditions, including:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Sun spots and damage
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Acne and acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Rough or dull skin texture
- Enlarged pores
Is Microdermabrasion Right For Me?
Anyone who wishes to enhance the look and feel of their skin without using extensive or invasive cosmetic procedures may be an ideal candidate for microdermabrasion. If you wish to reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles in your face, neck, chest or other areas of the body, contact our office to schedule your individualized consultation.
What is the Microdermabrasion Procedure Like?
Before beginning, your skin will be thoroughly cleaned and dried to remove any excess oil or dirt. Charles A. Wallace, M.D. utilizes a remarkable microdermabrasion technique called Vibradermabrasion.
This process removes 75 to 85 percent of the non-living skin cells from the toy layer of skin, or the stratum corneum. Vibradermabrasion uses a rapidly moving sterile paddle covered in abrasive particles to gently remove the layers of damaged skin tissue. The procedure is fast, lasting an hour or less, and can leave your skin looking radiant.
What Can I Expect After Microdermabrasion Treatments?
No downtime is required following vibradermabrasion or other microdermabrasion techniques. The technique is intended to gently polish the skin, which may leave it feeling a little tight or vulnerable following treatment. A sun-protecting lotion or moisturizer should be used.
How Much Does Microdermabrasion Cost?
Most insurance providers consider this an elective procedure, so coverage is usually not provided. To ensure microdermabrasion remains affordable for all clients, we offer financing options via Prosper® Healthcare Lending. We also accept cash, check, Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®.
