Millions of people suffer with fine lines and wrinkles and Botox® has helped them rejuvenate their appearance and boost self-confidence. Thousands of Plano and Frisco area women and men are erasing the signs of aging with Botox® treatments by board-certified plastic surgeon Charles A. Wallace, M.D.
What is Botox®?
As the skin ages and loses elasticity, it begins to appear wrinkled. Botox® is a cosmetic injectable used to fill in fine lines and wrinkles. Made from a refined bacterium, Botox® temporarily paralyzes the muscles in the face. This makes the skin appear smoother and younger look.
Botox® is also used to treat migraines and an overactive bladder in some patients. It may also be appropriate for patients looking to decrease sweat underneath the arms.
A Natural Appearance with Botox®
Botox® can be used in many areas of the face to achieve a natural, energetic appearance. It is appropriate for the forehead, crow’s feet around the eyes and lines around the eyebrows. Also, patients use Botox® for a gummy smile, frown lines, chin dimples, lip lines and marionette lines around the mouth. It may also be used to treat minor platysmal bands in the neck.
Benefits of Botox®
Botox® injections temporarily smooth the skin on the face. This gives the patient a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. Skin appears softer as wrinkles are smoothed, even in trouble spots, such as the forehead and around the mouth. In some patients, Botox® is an alternative treatment for migraines, excessive underarm sweat or overactive bladder.
Is Botox® Right for Me?
If you are frustrated by lines and wrinkles, you may be an excellent candidate for Botox® treatments. Patients seeking alternative treatments for overactive bladder, excessive underarm sweat or migraines may also be great candidates for Botox® treatments. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Wallace to determine if Botox® is the right treatment for you.
Elements of Botox®
Some patients will receive a local anesthetic prior to receiving any treatment though some patients find the treatment does not require an anesthetic. Botox® is administered using a very thin needle to inject the precise amount in the specific location. Dr. Wallace will plan out the number of injections you may need, as well as where they will go prior to your treatment. The number and severity of the wrinkles being addressed will determine how long your appointment is and how frequently you may need to follow up with the doctor.
How much Does Botox® Cost in Dallas?
Each patient requires a unique treatment plan. Dr. Wallace will design your Botox® treatment specifically to your needs, tailoring the number of injections and the amount of Botox® used. The cost for Botox® treatments varies depending on these factors. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®. After Your Botox® Procedure
Patients are able to return to a normal schedule following the procedure. Dr. Wallace will indicate if you will have any restrictions following your treatment. It is important to allow your face time to recover. You may be most comfortable sleeping on your back for several days after the treatment.
Getting Back to Normal Following Botox®
Patients are able to resume regular activities very quickly after a Botox® procedure. Most patients see results soon after their treatment. The effects of the treatment will last anywhere from three to six months, at which time most patients receive a follow-up treatment. You will be able to smile and frown normally, showing off your smoother, revitalized appearance.
