Breast Reconstruction Post Mastectomy or Breast Reconstruction Post-Mastectomy Reconstruction (breast reconstruction): reconstructive plastic surgery to restore the form and appearance of a breast following total or partial removal. Options are variable, and range from muscle and/or tissue flaps from either the upper back or the lower abdomen, to artificial implants. Pigment tattooing is also available to create natural coloring of the nipple and areola. Patients must not smoke for these procedures.
