Cheek Lift
|
Cheek Lift, Mid Face Lift Surgery for Natural Curves, Fullness in Cheeks
|
Cheek Lift: The area between your lower eyelids and your mouth is considered the midface. As you age, the effects of gravity, repeated muscle contraction, and lifestyle cause the skin, fat, and muscle in this region to move downwards. When this occurs, the cheeks begin to look saggy or flat, lower eyelids can become puffy or hollow, circles begin to appear under the eyes, and the lines between the nose and the corner of the mouth deepen.
The ENDOTINE cheek lift restores the natural curves and fullness in the cheeks by moving soft tissues back to where they were earlier. This is achieved by elevating the soft midface tissue from the bone, repositioning it upward towards the eyes, and fixating it in place until it re-adheres naturally to the bone. This restores cheek volume and establishes more youthful contours. the result will be a natural, revitalized appearance that doesn't appear overdone or "pulled" with no scars visible. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is a Cheek Lift procedure done?
A: The ENDOTINE cheek lift restores the natural curves and fullness in the cheeks by moving soft tissues back to where they were earlier. This is achieved by elevating the soft midface tissue from the bone, repositioning it upward towards the eyes, and fixating it in place until it re-adheres naturally to the bone. Q: Can I have other procedures at the same time as a cheek lift?
A: Yes, these are frequently done in conjunction with eyelid surgery, an endoscopic brow lift or various other facial procedures. While they can be done at the same time as a body procedure, we frequently will separate body procedures and facial procedures if one or the other is of an extended nature.
Q: What sort of anesthesia is used for an Endotyne mid-face lift?
A: Typically these are done either under general anesthesia or substantial sedation. In any case, plenty of local anesthetic is put in so that one awakens relatively pain free.
Q: What is the recovery like? I have heard that there is fair amount of swelling.
A: The recovery from an Endotyne mid-face lift is relatively straightforward. There are no external incisions. They are only in the mouth and back behind the hairline, so scars are not a concern. There will be some swelling and medicine is given to minimize this. While it will vary from individual to individual, it is important to keep ice on your face for the first 24 hours and then use cool compresses and ice packs, as tolerated, thereafter for the first few days. It is important to sleep with your head elevated on two or three pillows or perhaps in a recliner. Pain is not usually a problem, but there is some swelling that can take several weeks to settle down. The final result from a mid-face lift is not typically seen for anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months.
Q: How long have you been doing this procedure? It sounds pretty new.
A: We have been performing this procedure since it became available in 2005 and have been very happy with the results in all cases.
